Enjoy a ferry ride in the mighty Arabian sea to reach “The City of Caves”, Elephenta. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and a great example of monolithic rock cut architecture
After meeting your local expert guide, walk to the jetty and board the ferry to Elephenta. You will see the Gateway of India, a structure which was erected to commemorate the landing of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911, before departing the jetty. The one hour ferry ride gives a great opportunity to take pictures and see the development of the marine industrial revolution along the way.

On arrival to the island, you will take a short “Toy Train” ride the Elephanta Caves, which contain a collection of rock art linked to the sect of Shiva. At Elephanta, Indian art found one of its most  memorable canvases, particularly in the vast expanse of the main cave.
